Today
it is a matter of common knowledge among architects that
modern cast stone possesses many superior qualities; that it
may be economically made in an endless variety of forms and
colors; that if well made, properly set and carefully
pointed, it is permanently enduring and resists successfully
the ravages of water and fire and that it combines strength
and beauty with usefulness.
Our principal goal and the
purpose of this web site is to facilitate the use of cast
stone, to save time, trouble and expense to all concerned by
disseminating accurate and dependable information on proper
methods of jointing and construction. Nearly all of these
methods have been in practical use for many years.
This site is in no sense
intended to be a source of artistic inspiration. We do not
presume to even suggest architectural design or influence.
For a number of problems several good solutions are possible
and the preference is sometimes governed by very slight
modifications of profiles and dimensions.
This web site is respectfully dedicated to our best friends
- the Architects and the Architectural Engineers and their
Assistants, with sincere hope that they will endorse the
value of cast stone and express their appreciation of our
efforts by designing, receiving and treating it as a
trustworthy friend of the building industry.
