| In masonry terms, a
watertable is a projecting ledge, molding, or string course along the
first few bottom courses of masonry on a building which is designed to
throw off rainwater; it usually divides the foundation of a building
from the first floor. Incorporating such an element also gives the
impression of strength and stability to the outline of a building. |
